This patent protects the method of removing the whole saliva from a leech and utilizing it as a treatment for various forms of cancers. The method of extraction includes: feeding the leech; inducing the regurgitation of the leech; collecting an unrefined whole saliva from the leech; removing solid components from the unrefined saliva; and lyophilizing the refined saliva. The types of cancer it covers are as follows: lung, breast, prostate, colorectal, ovarian, leukemia, and lymphoma. It also covers the use of treating a metastasis of a tumor with the use of a refined, whole leech saliva extract and the use of the saliva as a cancer treatment administered in connection with carboplatin and irinotecan.
