Nayaz Ahmed, PhD.

Dr. Ahmed is a pharmaceutical development scientist experienced in R&D, regulatory compliance and quality control. He creatively resolves CMC and outstanding quality issues with firm knowledge of operations related to pharmaceuticals, biologicals and medical devices. At PrimaPharm, Dr. Ahmed has been instrumental in developing comprehensive regulatory compliance systems, SOP’s, and cGMP guided research to support product development. He has also reorganized PrimaPharm’s quality control department to execute new and improved quality systems to meet current FDA, ICH and ISO regulations and standards. Before joining PrimaPharm, Dr. Ahmed worked as a process development consultant for Cargill. He was also a scientist for LKT Laboratories where he led teams accountable for; R&D, manufacturing, analytical and bio-analytical chemistry, natural products and specialty chemicals for cancer research. As a principal investigator, Dr. Ahmed received a Small Business Innovative Research award from the National Institute of Health for developing “Organoselenium Compounds for Cancer Prevention”. He has also served as a member of the NIH/NCI Peer Review Committee, the National Cooperative Drug Discovery Group for Cancer and as a reviewer of several cancer research journals. Dr. Ahmed has earned four patents and has been published in several prominent journals. He is Regulatory Affairs Certified in the United States and European Union and is also a Certified Quality Auditor. Dr. Ahmed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, a Master of Science degree in Chemistry and his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Bangalore University in Bangalore, India. He was also a professor and served as Head of the Chemistry Department for Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy in Bangalore, India.
